Collaboration

Using our scientific knowledge and expertise along with our novel software for analyzing genetic expression data, Dynabyte BioLabs helps our partners and collaborators to see patterns and draw conclusions from the vast amounts of experimental biological data available. We are constantly looking for new partners and customers that need our expertise in interpreting and analyzing genetic network data.

Our Proposal

We propose a collaboration where Dynabyte BioLabs supports a drug discovery or assay development project, using GNE.

Suggested Workflow

  1. Select a Core Network (CN) of genes relevant to a biological question.
  2. Extend the network by querying the database with GNE. At this stage the hypothesis is that a network is relevant for the biological process.
  3. To validate and/or adjust the network, relevant gene expression datasets are imported, e.g. from NCBI GEO.

It is now possible to view discretized experiental data superimposed on the core network. Individual probes and raw experiment data can also be inspected and network inconsistencies are automatically highlighted. Statistically significant features of the selecte core network, such as differential expression, keyword occurrence can be calculated and visualized. The results are used to reformulate the hypothesis by adjusting the studied network, and by directing in-house experimental efforts. The genetic network, with literature references, can be exported to other software, such as R or Cytoscape.
